Deborah
Diffily, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of Early Childhood Education
at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She received a Ph.D. from the
University of North Texas. As a former pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and first
grade teacher in Fort Worth, Deborah has practical experience teaching and learning
with young children.
Using both theoretical background and practical experience, Deborah makes state
and national presentations, and also shares her knowledge through journal articles
and books. Her most recent book, Project-Based Learning
with Young Children, was co-authored with Charlotte Sassman and
published by Heinemann. Deborah's primary areas of interest are supporting emergent
and scientific development, teaching young children through projects, and working
with families.
